Stacey Donovan (born Kelley Howell),[2] (born October 9, 1964 in Encino, California) is a well known former porn star and a model who reached her career peak in the 1980s. She was described by porn producers and directors alike as a "pure California f**kbunny" because of her blonde hair, blue eyes, lithe body, girl-next-door appearance and the seeming eagerness and enthusiasm she injected into her sex scenes.

However, appearances were apparently deceiving. "I don't enjoy [working in pornography]," she told the Baltimore Sun in October 1985 in an article that was also reprinted in the San Diego Union-Tribune. She noted that she earned about $1,000 a day. "But I don't like to take my clothes off in front of everyone."[3]

Career

Stacey was making between 10-15 films a year during the 1980s, with her most prolific period being 1986 and 1987. At the time Stacey was doing both lesbian and straight scenes. She even appeared in the bisexual porn film "Switch Hitters" in 1987. Its plot involved a losing baseball team loaded with players more interested in each other than winning. Stacey has a scene in the film in which she seduces two bisexual players in the locker room. This period is when she was among the top stars in the industry. However, her heart was never into making adult films.[4] In the late 1980s Stacey testified on behalf of the Meese Commission. After that, she was blacklisted in the adult-film industry. Her last film was made in 1994.[4]
